Topic for week 2
Originally a document was seen as a ‘textual record’ taking a physical form. But with an increase in a range of media, a document can now be produced and stored digitally. This is seen to have some effect on how we look at documents today; nevertheless I do believe the definition for a document doesn’t change. With a digital or physical document they both capture knowledge and we are still able to store it for later use.
According to Suzanne Briet, she explains that a document can only become a document well the content within is captured. So in this case of a movie, painting, a sound recording or a piece of music; they all have content within them that has been captured and organised with is seen with these 4 formats.
